We acted as buy-side technical advisor to Macquarie Capital in connection with its investment in Chiron Energy, aimed at establishing the Chiron Energy Power Generation joint venture for the development, construction and operation of renewable energy plants and energy storage systems in Italy. The transaction involves the creation of a platform owned 51% by Chiron Energy and 49% by Macquarie Capital, with the aim of developing and building at least 1 GW of new photovoltaic capacity and 500 MW of battery energy storage systems.

Vector’s role and team involved

As part of the transaction, our team supported Macquarie Capital through technical due diligence on the portfolio, assisting the investor in assessing the technical, permitting and energy yield assumptions, as well as the key aspects related to the construction and operational phases of the plants.

Transactions of this nature require an increasingly in-depth and independent level of technical analysis. Our role is to support investors in understanding the risks and opportunities associated with the assets, helping to create the conditions for sound and informed investment decisions. We are proud to have supported Macquarie Capital in a transaction focused on the development of new renewable capacity in Italy.
