In 2024, Comal SpA adopted NUO, our energy management platform, as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to support the operation and maintenance of photovoltaic plants with a total installed capacity of 192 MW. In 2026, COMAL SpA decided to expand its use of NUO by integrating NUO APLS (Automatic Power Limitation Service) for the automated management of dispatching orders.

Comal SpA is a leading EPC contractor and O&M provider in the solar energy sector. It has installed more than 40 solar power plants in Italy and South Africa, with a total capacity of over 600 MW.
Vector’s role and team involved
Since 2024, our team has been supporting Comal SpA by enhancing the NUO platform with new features developed to meet the client’s specific operational requirements. With the introduction of the new NUO APLS feature, Comal can automate the management of Terna’s dispatch orders, ensuring promptness and operational accuracy.
UO has literally made our lives easier: it has enabled us to speed up reporting activities, identify issues and intervene promptly. We have always worked very well with the Vector Renewables team, who have proven to be flexible and responsive in meeting our needs.
Our collaboration with Comal has always been very positive and has allowed us to verify how NUO effectively meets not only the needs of asset owners, banks and investment funds (Vector Renewables’ traditional target clients), but also the needs of EPC contractors and O&M players. We have worked with Comal with a continuous improvement approach, ultimately developing together new functionalities specifically designed for O&M activities, which have further enriched the platform.
With the introduction of NUO APLS, Comal SpA is now able to automatically receive and interpret Terna’s dispatch orders, implement restrictions in real time whilst providing notification, and track and certify data for the purposes of financial settlement.
